Kimball Community Playhouse is pleased to announce open auditions for their ninth summer musical production, "Camelot" to take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 19, 20, and 21. Auditions will take place at Kimball Area High School in the Choir Room, the #3 entrance will be open on the north side of the building.
Based on "The Once and Future King," by T.H. White, "Camelot" was written in 1960 by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, and features the story of King Arthur, Lady Guenevere, Sir Lancelot, and the Knights of the Round Table. The show is produced by KCP with permission from Tams-Witmark and supported by the Central Minnesota Arts Board.
Roles available in "Camelot" include leads King Arthur and Lady Guenevere, supporting roles Sir Lancelot, Morgan le Fey, Mordred, Pellinore, Sir Dinaden, Sir Lionel, and Sir Sagramore. Smaller roles include Merlyn and Nimue, and Tom of Warwick. Most roles are young adult to experienced adult, or age 15 and older. There will be several roles cast as chorus/supporting cast members that are not speaking roles. The production team anticipates a total cast size of more than 30 individuals.
For those actors/actresses who are younger than casting ages for "Camelot," but would like to gain drama experience this summer, Kimball Community Playhouse is partnering with Kimball Community Education to offer two theater camps later in the summer. Please see the Summer Cub Prints for information about those programs or contact Kimball Community Education for information and registration.
