Share the Fun & Performing Arts Day

The 2009 Meeker County 4-H Share the Fun & Performing Arts Day was held Sunday afternoon, April 26, in the Bernie Aaker Auditorium at the Family Services Center in Litchfield. Share The Fun is a time for kids to share fun skits with their peers and adults while performing for an audience. The purposes of Share The Fun include: building club rapport and unity, promoting 4-H, and providing recognition for the club. Many Meeker County 4-H'ers had a great opportunity to share their talents. Along with the 4-H Ambassadors, participants included members from the following clubs: Acton Buzzers, Danielson Hustlers, Dassel Lamplighters, Kimball Kruisers, Litchfield Satellites, North Star Busy Bees, and the Valley Victors. Awards were as follows: • Most Humorous-North Star Busy Bees "Life Swap" • Most 4-H Spirit-Acton Buzzers "Going Green" • Best Props-Litchfield Satellites "Twas the Night Before the Fair" • Most Original-Valley Victors "25 Random Ways to Make You Smile" • 3rd Place-Danielson Hustlers "Scene It" • 2nd Place-Dassel Lamplighters "Cloverella" • 1st Place-Kimball Kruisers "A Series of Un-4-H-unate Events" As the first place winner, the Kimball Kruisers 4-H Club earned the opportunity to represent Meeker County 4-H at the 2009 Minnesota State Fair Share The Fun Showcase. Some clubs will also perform their acts during the Share the Fun showcase at the Meeker County Fair. Performing Arts allows youth the opportunity to showcase their talents, build self-confidence, and have fun! Members participating performed between Share the Fun acts. There were a wide variety of different performances. Placings were as follows: • Champion Grades 3-5: Payton Schiefelbein-Speech "The Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln" • Reserve Champion Grades 3-5: Emma Smith-Piano "Little Prelude" • Champion Grades 6-8: Ellen Hulterstrum-Flute "The Cuckoo" • Reserve Champion Grades 6-8: Katie Peterson-Saxophone "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik" • Champion Grades 9+: Travis Schiefelbein-Poem "Cinderella" • Reserve Champion Grades 9+: Elizabeth Cron-Speech "Insomnia" • Cloverbud Participants: Bailee Schiefelbein-Piano "Questions" • Casey Gohmann-Piano "Movin' Up Rock" • Matthew Vought-Piano "Rainbow Song" Other participants include: Abbey Schiefelbein-Piano "To Celia" Alison Radunz-Speech "This Life...Which Symbolizes Me" Andi Schiefelbein-Clarinet "A Whole New World" Chelsey Maus-Vocal "Bless the Broken Road" Colleen Vought-Piano "Hoe Down" Elizabeth Vought-Piano "Riding My Pony" Jenna Maus-Tenor Saxophone "Baroque Suite" Savannah Joldersma-Vocal "Amazing Grace" Sierra Joldersma-Piano "Fur Elise" State Fair Line Up: Travis Schiefelbein, Elizabeth Cron, Chelsey Maus, Jenna Maus, Ellen Hulterstrum, Katie Peterson, Elizabeth Vought, and Colleen Vought.
