LeRoy McKeown, Sr., of South Haven died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 84. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, at Zion United Methodist Church in South Haven, with Rev. Ric Koehn officiating. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Monday, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, and one hour prior to services at the church. The prayer service was at 7 p.m. Monday. Interment was at Zion Cemetery. LeRoy Donald McKeown, Sr. was born Sept. 7, 1924, at LeSueur to Glenn and Ruth (Swanson) McKeown. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. LeRoy married Maria Anna Ehrke Dec. 17, 1954 in Germany. She died May 15, 2006. Since 1960, he lived in South Haven, and was a custodian for Annandale Schools before retiring in 1987. LeRoy was an active member of Zion United Methodist Church, and a former member of South Haven VFW Post 332. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Anna and brother Clayton. LeRoy is survived by his children LeRoy, Jr. (And Kathy) McKeown of Wichita, Kan., Bill (and Debbie) McKeown of Elk River, Carol (and Mark) Jordan of South Haven, Trish (and Mike) Caird of South Haven; sister Dorothy (and Kenneth) Mueller of LeSueur; 13 grandchildren Thomas, Kevin, Kim, Kyle, and Ryan McKeown; Jeremy (and Julie), Nathan, William, Jr., and Paige McKeown; Mandy (and Scott) Berscheid, Cassy (and J.R.) McGuire, Christopher Pramann, and Ashley (and Doug) Hommerding; eight great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and one step-great-granddaughter. LeRoy's grandchildren were the pallbearers. Jamie Miller provided the organ music for the service.
