Tyler Baker of Kimball, formerly of Rockford, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, after a courageous 17-month battle with cancer. He was 15. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, at the Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano, with Rev. Lee Hallstrom officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford. Tyler James Baker was born May 12, 1993, to Keith Baker and Dawn Carlson in Waconia, Minn. He was a very active boy, and interested in all sports. Wrestling, football, baseball, snowboarding, fishing, camping, and golf were just some of his many interests. He attended the Rockford School system, Apollo School in St. Cloud and Kimball Area High School. Tyler was always a positive person, even during the most difficult parts of dealing with his illness. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Bob and Irene Heck; Leonard and Velva Baker; and Don and Joan Dill; as well as a great-aunt Karen Stasny. He is survived by his father Keith Baker (and Tracy); mother Dawn Carlson; sisters Amanda Carlson and Alison Baker; brother Michael Hanson; step-brothers Jared and Cody Anderson. Also survived by grandparents Kenneth and Betty Baker; caring aunts and uncles Jessica and Jake Fitch, and Wes and Nicole Baker; as well as many other family members. Casket bearers will be Jim Frilstad, John Frilstad, Steven Golla, Jared Bay, Leonard Jobghen, and Todd Gartner. Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
