Kimball wrestlers at state finals

A pair of Kimball Area High School youth made it to the NYWA State wrestling finals. Jordan Joseph and Travis Wills both competed in the NYWA State tournament in Rochester, Minn., April 2-5. Jordan competed in the 5/6 grade-140 lb. weight class, and Travis in the 7/8 grade-150 lb. class. Both were region champions and entered the tournament with high hopes. Jordan pinned his way into the finals and then 'took home the gold' with an 8-2 victory over William Parks from Perham. Jordan was a little undersized for the weight class but made up for it by using his quickness and determination to foil the competition. Jordan has won several youth state titles, but this one was particularly exciting, as there were several former state champions loaded into this one bracket. Jordan has been asked to represent Kimball and Minnesota in the National Heartland Elementary duals next weekend in Fremont, Neb. He has accepted the offer and plans to represent our area well!
