Meeting was called to order by Mayor, Tammy Konz at 7:01 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Mayor Tammy Konz, council members Joe Krippner, Eric Loewen and DuWayne Orbeck. From Maine Prairie: Jim Unterberger, Dennis Loewen and John Wicker. Others present: Tammy Weege. Jim Unterberger made a motion to accept the minutes of the August 21, 2008 meeting, second by Eric Loewen, motion carried. Discussion about the City possibly purchasing the Arnold building. No plans have been finalized, there have been discussions regarding moving the Police Department to the building, as well as possibly moving the Library. The renovation of City Hall was discussed. LGA cuts were discussed. Comprehensive road plan for the Township was discussed. The Plan should be complete in 5 to 7 months. There will be a meeting in April. Grants for highways and cities was discussed. John Wicker said he would contact the county to see if any grants are available. Discussion on who owns 135th Street: A contract will be drawn up for ownership/maintenance. Resurfacing of the roads will be Maine Prairie responsibility, to be shared 50/50 with the City. Any improvements will be a joint approval. House of Representatives File No. 1035 was discussed. Set next meeting for August 6, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Willow Creek Park.
