Luella was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Eden Lake Township, Stearns County, to John and Rachel (Wilson) Driver. She married Henry Lehnen Sept. 30, 1933, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. The couple farmed and lived in Paynesville Township. After he died, Luella moved to Paynesville. Luella was employed by the Good Samaritan Home in Paynesville for 20 years; she retired in 1979. She was a member of the Church of God in Eden Valley and the Ladies' Aid. Luella especially enjoyed spending time with her family in addition to bowling, word search books, marbles, playing cards and, most of all, the game of "Hand and Foot." She will be remembered as a caring and giving person, always ready to help where needed. Luella was preceded in death by her husband Henry Oct. 12, 1967; daughters Betty Kilanowski Dec. 14, 2000, and Ione Lehnen March 15, 1947; grandson David Lehnen in 1969; brothers Morris, Harry, Roy, Lawrence, George, Elva and Ernest; and sisters Arvilla Knutson, Mattie Block and Hazel Bahner. She is survived by her children Donna Mae (and Russell) Vadner of Paynesville, Eugene of Paynesville, and Irene (and Jerry) Diedrich of St. Cloud; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildre, five step-great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and five step-great-great-grandchildren. Memorials are preferred.
