Glenn Bennett of Kimball died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the St. Cloud Hospital. He was 76. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball with Pastor Jerry Albert officiating. Friends called from 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral chapel in Kimball. Burial followed at Maine Prairie Cemetery in Kimball. Glenn Richard Bennett was born April 4, 1932, in Kimball to Alvin "Rusty" and Mildred E. (Brower) Bennett. He was slowed down with polio in 1946. Glenn's will and determination allowed him to live a full life. He was a 1951 graduate of Grove City High School, and he was trained as a milk tester at the University of Minnesota. For 37 years he was employed by the Dairy Herd Improvement Association, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and baseball games; also playing cards and stopping at the restaurant for coffee. Glenn is survived by brothers Jerald Bennett of Bell, Calif., Robert Bennett of Buffalo, Minn., Frank Bennett of Las Vegas, Nev., Gary (and Dorie) Bennett of Wyoming, Minn., and sister Betty (and Fred) Gross of Oak Creek, Wisc.; also by nine nephews, four nieces, six great-nephews, and four great-nieces. Pallbearers were Alvin, Ross, Craig, Curt and Kyle Bennett, and Steve, Greg and Joe Gross. Arrangements were by Dingmann Funeral Care of Kimball. Memorials are preferred to the Kimball Area Historical Society or the donor's choice.
