Joy Jahnke of Waconia, formerly of Kimball, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia. She was 84. Memorial services were at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia. Friends called one hour prior to the service. Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Waconia. Joy C. Jahnke was born March 3, 1924, in Bovey, Minn., at her grandmother's house. She married Erwin Jahnke Oct. 19, 1968; he died Feb. 23, 1986. During her life, she worked at the Curtis Hotel and Honeywell in Minneapolis, for Lockheed in Calif., and the Cozy Café in Kimball. She was preceded in death by her husband Erwin. Joy is survived by her son Mickey Pappas of Portland, Ore., and many nieces and nephews.
