Alpine Ski Team race results

Powder Ridge Alpine Ski Team took fourth place at MSRL Championships Under near-perfect conditions, with a blue sky and rock hard snow, 23 Powder Ridge racers earned top 10 finishes to help the Ridge Racers place fourth in the Minnesota Ski Race League Championships at Mt. Kato Saturday, Feb, 28. Abby Swanson (girls age 6) skied to first place, besting her rivals by 2.5 sec. to take home the Gold medal. Nicole Bloch (girls age 11) and Parker Fuchs (boys age 14) earned Silver medals, while Shelby Zoller (girls age 6) and Nathan Hilbert (boys age 8) took home Bronze medals. Fourth-place finishes were turned in by Suzanne Schneider (girls age 8), Ben Minkel (boys age 13), and Ryan Hunstiger (boys age 14). Lexie Deal (girls age 13) took fifth place, with Charlie Stuck (boys age 9), Anne Hunstiger (girls age 13), and Nick Held (boys age 13) taking sixth. In seventh place were Callan Miller (boys age 6), Rachael Boesen (girls age 6), Logan Erickson (boys age 11), and Kelly Zelko (girls age 12). Kaia Greely (girls age 9) earned eighth place, as did Nolan Miller (boys age 9), and Eric Schneider (Boys age 12). In ninth were Helena Nelson (girls age 10), and Lizzy Dorle (girls age 11). Rounding out the top 10 in very competitive fields at all ages were Anne Boesen (girls age 8), Nolan Babcock (boys age 8), and Abigail Flaschenriem (girls age 10). Powder Ridge entered 35 racers who combined for fourth in team competition. First place went to Wild Mt. (116) followed by Mt. Kato (102), Buck Hill (44), Powder Ridge (26), Coffee Mill (12) and Tonkawood (8). The Powder Ridge Team will host its end of the year banquet at Powder Ridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, (Wear something green). David Bacharach, Jr Alpine Race Coach
