Sharon Nyren of South Haven died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She was 67. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. Sharon Kathleen Nyren was born April 23, 1941, to Thomas and Fern (VanVickle) McGee in Benson where she grew up and attended school. On Feb. 15, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dale Nyren. They lived for a short time in Benson, then moved to the Annandale area where they stayed ever since. Sharon enjoyed visiting for hours on end with her family and friends. She loved having her pets around her, as if they were her children. Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter Roberta "Robin" Nyren, her parents, and sister Becky Mohrman. She is survived by her husband Dale; sons Jeff (and Candy) of South Haven, Scott (and Lori) of Annandale, and Wade of Rice; five grandchildren: Ashley, Tasha, Parker, Hunter and Nicholas; great-grandson Brennan; brother Thomas "Tommy" McGee Jr. of Huntley, Ill.; sisters Rita (and Wayne) Wersinger of Danvers, Mary (and Mike) Wente of Porter, Juanita Saterbak of Danvers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Urnbearer will be Jason Wersinger. Music for the service will be provided by organist Orma Lou Jacobsma and soloist Darrel Olson.
