Kimball Community Playhouse is proud to present their Sixth Annual Dinner Theater and Silent Auction Saturday, March 7, and Dessert Matinee Sunday, March 8. (see add on page 9 for times). The event will be featuring Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery "And Then There Were None," directed by Jody Markgraf. Prior to the show, entertainment will be provided by Cherie Ploof and various members of the Kimball Speech Team and high school band musicians. As the play opens, ten strangers arrive on Soldier Island for a pleasant weekend getaway. As they meet for dinner, a mysterious voice charges each one of the guests with murder. "Prisoners at the bar," the voice inquires, "do you have anything to say in your defense?" Shortly afterward, one of the ten mysteriously chokes to death. When the doctor, one of the guests, determines that the young woman has been poisoned, the remaining nine look at one another in horror. Could the murderer be one of them? A great cast of actors make up this ensemble play. KCP welcomes newcomers Mark Dockery and Kelly Traurig to the stage, along with Kendra Vigoren, Camen Miles, Shirley Gilpatrick, Nessa Gillman, and Patrick Dahle, who have all been in past productions. Veteran Dave Milz returns to tread the boards (sadly not hopping this time) along with Jeff Babbitt, whose last performance, other than as KCP President and offical Master of Ceremonies, was as Injun Joe in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Lybbi LaBeau joins us from Annandale High School; she was an extra in Grease. And last but not least, finally stepping on stage after several productions at the light and sound board, is Kimball Area High School senior Burke Tagney. The Silent Auction fundraiser will benefit future KCP productions, and a portion of the proceeds will go to Dollars for Scholars, an organization that provides college money for graduating seniors from Kimball Area High School. Tickets for the dinner theater are still available; contact Robin Dockery at (320) 398-7800 to reserve seating as these tickets are not available at the door.
