St. Cloud State University students present the SCSU 2009 V-Day production of "The Vagina Monologues" here on campus in the Atwood Ballroom at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Feb. 14 and 15. Tickets are available in advance or at the door: $3 in advance/students, $5 at door/students, $6 in advance/public, $7 at door/public. Contact Women's Center for ticketing information. Eve Ensler is a playwright, performer and activist. She is the award-winning author of The Vagina Monologues, which has been published in 45 languages and performed in over 120 countries. She is also the founder/artistic director of V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women and girls, which has raised nearly 60 million dollars and recently celebrated its tenth anniversary at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans April 2008. This year, SCSU V-Day is honoring our beneficiary, the St. Cloud Children's Home (SCCH). Since 1875, SCCH has been dedicated to helping children and families that are unable to adjust to many of the changes, often traumatic, that happen in their lives. Their mission statement declares that the SCCH is to foster and promote services for children and families, to enhance their growth and development. Join the student cast and directors in a commitment to stop violence against women and girls. There will be a silent auction at the event for the audience members to receive some great deals while also fundraising for a much needed cause.
