Ridgewater College is hosting its fourth annual Multicultural Week on both its Hutchinson and Willmar campuses. The event will be held on the Willmar campus Feb. 23-26 and on the Hutchinson campus March 2-5. Events are free of charge, and the public is welcome to attend. Different events and presentations are planned for each day of the week that will engage students, staff, and our community in critical thinking about the role our cultural backgrounds play in our lives. Event organizers expect that the week's events will help students and staff gain knowledge and appreciation of cultures that may be unfamiliar to them, and ultimately provide an experience that will stay with them throughout their lives. In Hutchinson, the week will include a Latino Education Night. This is a community outreach event designed to educate Latino families about higher education access and opportunities. The event has been offered multiple times on Ridgewater's Willmar campus with great success and is being extended to Hutchinson for the first time. Latino Education Night will be held in the campus commons from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 5.
