Local student-athletes are partipating in intercollegiate football at Central Lakes College in Brainerd this fall. Defensive back Karl Hunt and defensive Anthony Laabs of South Haven are former Kimball Area High School athletes now playing for the Raiders' football team. Two former Eden Valley-Watkins athletes now at CLC are wide receiver Dustin Kramer of Watkins and linebacker Kyle Crozon of Paynesville (both are freshmen at the college). Last season, the Raiders of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference were 7-4 and state runners-up under first-year head coach Greg Medeck. On Sept. 27, CLC hosts defending state champion Rochester at 1:30 p.m. at Findorff Field. CLC is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, non-scholarship Division III. The community, and technical college also has teams in baseball, volleyball, softball, men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's golf.
