"And the Award goes to ... !" The annual Meeker County 4-H Awards Celebration was held Sunday, Oct. 12 at the First Lutheran Church in Litchfield. The awards celebration began at 2 p.m. with Federation Officers and Council Members honoring Meeker County 4-Hers for their accomplishments during the past year. Federation officers were installed, volunteers recognized, donors, champions and other award winners announced. The social hour followed awards with ice cream sundaes being served by the Neil Pearson Family of the Danielson Hustlers. Thank you to all volunteers and 4-Hers who came early to help set up and stayed afterwards to clean up. I was once again overwhelmed at your helpfulness. Also, thank you to all donors. Our program would not be as successful without you. Awards were as follows: 4-H Federation officers for 2008-2009 - president, Max Johnson, Acton Buzzers; vice president, Tyler Warren, Forest City Livewires; secretary, Arielle Bouley, Danielson Hustlers; youth treasurer, Katie Winter, Valley Victors; reporter, Nicole Knickerbocker, North Star Busy Bees; and adult treasurer, Pat Hansen (adult volunteer). Outstanding club officers - reporter, Chelsey Maus, Kimball Kruisers; secretary, Miranda Michaletz, Litchfield Satellites; and treasurer, Max Johnson, Acton Buzzers. Honorable mention club officers - reporter, James Gathje, Valley Victors; secretary, Shelby Schiefelbein, Kimball Kruisers; and treasurer, Katlyn Kiehn, Litchfield Satellites. 4-H club enrollment winners - Danielson Hustlers.
