It was a blustery and cold October Sunday, but 18 dedicated students from Kimball Area High School bundled up, grabbed their rakes, and fought the ?rst ?urries of the season for a good cause. The students began by raking two yards (Fairhaven and Kimball) that were requested during the previous week. The students then raked Mayor Tammy Konz's yard, by that time it was 4:30 and we had to call it a day. Kimball Area High School's National Honor Society (NHS) sponsored the event in an effort to show the community appreciation for supporting their schools. Although not as many houses were raked as originally hoped, the students worked hard to give back to the community. NHS members participating in the leaf raking included Paige Peglow (NHS president), Bridgett Gohman (NHS secretary), Andy Dingmann, Tyler Gregory, Kendra Albers, Sarah Powell and Brian Wills.
Also taking part in the project were students Kyle Messer, Sarah Messer, Macki Nelson, Allan Mancini, Cassandra Loch, Tyler Loch, Aaron Schmidt, Erin Dingmann, Sam Donnabauer, KT Smallwood, and Amanda Gageby. If you know of anyone that lives in town and in need of having their lawn raked, please contact Dennis Abernathy, NHS Advisor at (320) 398-7700 ext. 100 and leave a name, address, and preferred time to have this done.
