The Stearns History Museum announces the release of "The History of Richmond Chapter One. "Originally produced as a slide show by the Stearns County Historical Society in 1978, this presentation traces the growth of Richmond, Minnesota, from 1856 to 1978. To commemorate its 30th anniversary, local film producer Mark R. Krauel gives the production a new look through state of the art image enhancement and creative animation techniques. Subjects covered in this colorful production include European immigration, the Red River Ox Cart Trail, the role of the church in the early development of the community, the Sioux Indian uprising, family-owned businesses, local bars, the Prohibition Era, agriculture, and baseball. Combined with the 1978 narration by Richmond native Art Plantenberg, this DVD is a nostalgic look at the history of a small Minnesota town originally named Torah. DVD running time is 43 minutes. The DVD is available for sale at the Stearns History Museum for $14.95. The Stearns History Museum is located at 235-33rd Ave. S., St. Cloud.
