Student conference Forty-four students from the Bemidji State University Department of Accounting traveled to Roseville Sept. 30 to take part in the 11th Annual Accounting and Auditing Student Conference. Students from the area partipating were: Lisa Morris, South Haven, a sophomore, and Andrew Grelson, Cold Spring, a junior. Students attending the conference had an opportunity to connect and network with more than 50 accounting employers and explore different careers in the accounting field, and also had the opportunity to polish their resume and interviewing skills with feedback from trained interviewers. Conference attendees also participated in panels with topics including career path decisions and tips on how to answer "forbidden" interview questions, and will learn why professional association membership is critical to career success. The conference is sponsored by the Minnesota Information Systems Audit & Control Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, the Minnesota Government Finance Officers. Graduate Edward J. Spitz of Watkins was among May 2008 graduates from Upper Iowa University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree, Magna Cum Laude.
