St. John's Prep in Collegeville will host a Middle School information and early application night beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the school for families interested in learning more about the school's program. St. John's Prep enrollment reached a 39-year high for the 2008-2009 school year. The school consists of four classrooms of combined seventh- and eighth-grade students. Enrollment is limited to 20 students per homeroom. In addition to a college-prep curriculum and accelerated math options, all students study a foreign language (Spanish, German or Mandarin Chinese), choose a music option (band, choir or strings orchestra), study theology and have phy-ed and art. A comprehensive sports and extra-curricular program complements the academic offerings. The information session will include a general overview of the middle school's curriculum, activities and programs and transportation options. Tours of the school will be provided following the general session. For those who are further along in the decision process, there will be time to complete and turn in application materials. Student interviews are a required part of the admission process and may also be completed after the general information session.
