The Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 2:41 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, of a two-year-old child not breathing in Eden Valley, at a residence on Maple Street. Eden Valley Rescue, Watkins Ambulance, Eden Valley Police Department and Meeker County deputies responded. The child was transported to the Paynesville Hospital, where the child was pronounced dead. The Meeker County Sheriff's Office and Eden Valley Police Department, along with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are actively investigating this incident as a death investigation. Additional information will be made available as the case progresses, and the information can be made public.
