After several years of planning and hard work, St. John's Lutheran Church of Kimball broke ground for their new church building Sunday, May 18, 2008. Rather than having church elders shovel up the first ground, children in the congregation were given hand spades to turn ground where the future altar will stand. The site of the new church is in the northeast corner of Kimball, on a four-acre plot in the corner of the Greely Edition development. Heavy equipment will arrive in about two weeks. Pastor David Milz led a brief groundbreaking ceremony. Photo by Jean Doran Matua.
