The Kimball Cubs Varsity Baseball team earned itself a CMC win over Maple Lake in their season/home opener. Kimball sent junior right-hander Bobby Arens to the mound to open the season and he went the distance. Arens pitched all seven innings, only giving up atwo earned runs and striking out nine. The bats also looked good for the Cubs who put together 19 hits, seven of which were for extra bases. Junior Tommy Linn had a pair of doubles and fellow junior Ben Knaus had two triples in the victory. Kimball went on to score 14 runs in the game and came away with a good win to start the season.
