Marijuana grow found in apartment

Monday, April 16, the St. Joseph Fire Dept. responded to a laundry room fire located at 709 College Ave S., in the city of St. Joseph. When the fire was extinguished in the laundry room, neighboring apartments were checked for signs of fire. While checking these apartments, firefighters discovered a marijuana grow in apartment 7. The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force was contacted by the St. Joseph Police Dept. to investigate and later executed a search warrant on apartment #7 inside the building.

During the search, a marijuana grow was located in several rooms and 166 plants, along with additional controlled substances was located. The investigation is on-going at this time.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offender Task Force is made up of investigators from Todd, Benton, Stearns, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties, along with Sartell, St. Cloud, and Little Falls Police Departments.The Task Force was assisted by the St. Joseph Fire Dept. and the St. Joseph Police Dept.
