Hazardous waste facility open house April 14

Opportunity for public to see new household hazardous waste facility

Stearns County is holding an open house for the public to see its new Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Tri-County Solid Waste moved into its new building in early February, after outgrowing its old space off 7th Street North in St. Cloud.

The open house is scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, April 14. The Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility is located at 3610 5th Street South in Waite Park, three blocks south of the Stearns County Service Center off County Road 138, or near Mill's Fleet Farm.

Everyone is invited to stop by and take a tour of the new state-of-the-art building, and learn more about the facility and the services they offer residents. Treats and beverages will be served.

The HHW building collects and either recycles or disposes hazardous products, such as paint, solvents and pesticides, from residents in Benton, Sherburne and Stearns County. Waste will NOT be accepted the day of the open house.

The open house event is being held in conjunction with County Government Month, which runs the month of April. County Government Month is an annual event designed to improve the public's understanding of what county governments do.

Questions about the open house can be directed to the

Stearns County Administration Office at (320) 656-3601.
