Free community classes at Quarry Park teach about Minnesota plants
A hands-on class teaching about local native and invasive plants will be held at Stearns County's Quarry Park and Nature Preserve.
The public is invited to come to Quarry Park on either April 14 or 28 from 1-3 p.m. for the free class on Minnesota plants.
Attendees will learn how these plants are used and how they can be managed. It's a chance to learn about the plants in our parks, forests and backyards. Centering around the Quarry Park habitat, attendees will gain knowledge on plant identification, ethno-botany, invasive management, and the cultural history of Quarry Park.
If interested in attending, contact Peter Theismann at Stearns County Parks at (320) 654-4726, or by e-mail at
