An opening reception and exhibition of concept designs for the Veterans Educational Historic Project by internationally known artist and Little Falls native, Charles Gilbert Kapsner will be held at the Stearns History Museum, 235 33rd Avenue South, St. Cloud from 1Ð4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14. A short program commemorating this event will be held at 2 p.m. The artist and area veteran supporters of the project will be on hand to greet those in attendance.
Also on display will be a selection of Mr. Kapsner's paintings from his private collection as well as military memorabilia. All items will be on exhibit at the Museum until Jan. 31, 2011.
The displayed concept designs represent the history of the men and women who have served in each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces and Merchant Marine. The final drawings will be painted in oil on five canvases measuring
8 feet by 10 feet, and will hang inside the committal hall of the administration building at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls.
Nov. 14, admission is free to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
