Busy week for JV volleyball team

Tuesday, Oct. 5, the junior varsity volleyball team traveled to ACGC to take on the Falcons. Despite a quick start and win in set one, the Cubs fell to the Falcons in three. Set scores were 25-16, 23-25, and 14-16.

Thursday, Oct. 7, the Cubs hosted the EV-W Eagles. In set one, the two evenly matched teams played extra points with the Eagles coming out on top. The Cubs could not rebuild their momentum after set one and lost set two as well. Scores were 27-29, 19-25.

Saturday, Oct. 9, the Cubs hosted Eden Valley-Watkins, Holdingford, and Royalton in a round robin tournament. The junior varsity from EV-W won the pool with a 3-0 record. The Cubs finished second in the junior varsity pool with a 2-1 record. The Cubs opened the tournament with a match against Holdingford. The Cubs prevailed in three, 25-20, 15-25, and 15-10. In the second match of the day, the Cubs faced off against EV-W. The Cubs had a slow start in set one and never recovered, falling 15-25. They also lost set two, 21-25. In the final match of the day, the Cubs reestablished their energy on the court against Royalton. The Cubs took the match in two sets, 25-8, 25-18.

The season is wrapping up quickly. The Cubs have four matches left to play. Their last home match will be Tuesday, Oct. 19, against the B-B-E Jaguars.
