MEA Specialty Baseball Camp announced

The St. Cloud State University baseball coaching staff and team members will be sponsoring their second Annual "Stars of Tomorrow MEA Specialty Baseball Camp" for area youths ages 7-18 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22. The cost for the camp is $50 per player and $25 for additional family members.

Additionally, to stay overnight Thursday night at the GrandStay Residential Suites is only $25. Included in the overnight stay are: baseball chalk talks, baseball movies, pizza party, breakfast and transportation to the camp Friday morning.

"What a great way to spend a day off of school and with the great baseball weather we will hopefully have most of the camp outside. We will start the camp in our SCSU field house," said clinic director Pat Dolan.

The specialty camp will be broken into specific groups for pitchers, catchers, infielders and outfielders. Players will also be separated by age groups. Following lunch all players will go through a series of hitting drills and fundamental instruction. They will end with a simulated game.

"We will emphasize the most important reason we all play the game, for the FUN of it. We will also stress the fundamentals and incorporate simulated drills," Dolan said.
