Recovery of possibly stolen property
In St. Wendel Township, a Stearns County Deputy Sheriff was conducting a stolen property investigation Sept. 27 and found items that are believed to be stolen. At this time, a report has not been made by the owner of this property. The Sheriff's Office has taken the items and is klooking for the owner. These items include a guitar and amp, electric drill and car-emergency kit.
The owner of the property may call (320) 251-4240 to file a report and provide a complete description of the items.
Motorcycle crash with injuries
Saturday, Oct. 9, shortly after noon, Stearns County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash on County Road 1 and Xenia Road in Brockway Township. Also responding to the crash were St. Stephen Rescue and Gold Cross Ambulance.
The crash happened when Chad Donnay of St. Cloud was driving his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on County Road 1. Donnay lost control of the cycle in a curve and crashed into the ditch. His passenger Angela Donnay of St. Cloud was thrown from the motorcycle and iwas njured in the incident. Both Chad and Angela were taken to the St. Cloud Hospital by ambulance.
It is noted that both were wearing helmets at the time of the accident. No other vehicles were involved.
Weinmann arrested for fleeing officer
The evening of Friday, Oct. 8, a Stearns County Sheriff's Deputy tried to stop aman driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed on County Road 41 south of Albany. The driver of the motorcycle failed to stop for the deputy, and fled southbound on County Road 41 through the town of Farming and then south on County Road 23. The deputy lost sight of the motorcycle and discontinued the chase.
The deputy gathered information that the driver of the motorcycle was Kyle Weinmann, age 19, and then located the motorcycle and Weinmann at his home in rural Richmond. Weinmann admitted to fleeing from the officer and was arrested for fleeing a peace officer on a motor vehicle. Weinmann was taken to the Stearns County Jail and is being held pending a court appearance. The 2001 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle was seized and will be held for possible forfeiture.
