At 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, in the Kimball Area High School Cafetorium, Kimball Schools will sponsor a meeting for community members to learn more about the November Operating Levy Referendum. This meeting is intended to be an open gathering for residents to come and ask any questions they have about the upcoming operating levy referendum and district finances. District administration and school board members will be available.
Topics of discussion will include the need for the operating levy, what the ballot questions will look like, what amount of revenue the operating levy is expected to generate and how that revenue will be used to meet current and ongoing needs at Kimball Schools. This is a great opportunity to come in and get a brief overview of the challenges Kimball Schools have faced in the last 10 years and what can be done to move us forward as a strong, competitive school district.
Information from the meeting will also be printed in the Oct. 21 large distribution/saturation issue of the Tri-County News, which will feature "Education" and an "Election Preview". Kurt Helgeson, Board Chair, is available to answer any questions about the Kimball Schools upcoming operating levy referendum. He can be reached at (320) 420-2662 or
