The seventh-grade volleyball team is off to a great start by adding to their previous four wins going, 3-0 at Sartell Saturday, Oct. 2.
The team faced Sauk Rapids/Rice, Roccori and Sartell in a round robin format. Our first match of the day was against Sauk Rapids/Rice. The Cubs defeated them with great serving by a 4-0 margin. The next match of the day pitted the Cubs against a very scrappy Roccori team. The team won by a 2-1 margin, but found themselves losing the first game 22-25. They would fight back with two solid wins to take the match. Strong serving and solid defense was key and a good theme for the day. The Cubs defeated host team Sartell in the third match of the day by a score of 3-0.
Serving continues to be a positive aspect as well as staying aggressive while playing the ball both on offense and defense. We will continue to work and improve on passing the ball to our setter and attacking the ball offensively.
The Cubs will travel to Eden Valley/Watkins Tuesday, Oct. 5.
The seventh-grade volleyball team are Rebeckah Holtz, Shay Krippner, Natasha Kunkel, Ariel Laabs, Hedy Robben, Amanda Roerick, Taylor Schreiner, Abbey Straley and Montana Tschida.
