Monday, Oct. 4, at about 5 p.m., the Meeker County Sheriff's Office responded to an accident at 450 Smith Street South in Eden Valley. A fire department member, who was responding to a fire page, arrived at the fire department. When he was parking his truck, a 2003 Ford, his foot became stuck between both the accelerator and brake pedals, causing the truck to drive through the exterior wall and into an interior wall of the fire department. One fire fighter was thrown as a result of the impact with the interior wall, and was taken to the Paynesville Hospital by private vehicle and treated for minor injuries. This case is under investigation by the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
