Kingston-Johnson Kelly American Legion & Auxiliary

Tuesday evening, Sept. 28, the members of the Kingston Johnson Kelly American Legion Post 483 and Auxiliary met for their regular monthly meetings.

Prior to the business meetings, guest speaker was Edward Nielson, son of Jim and Heidi of Kingston.

Edward is a sophomore student at Kimball Area High School, who joined more than 300 other students from Minnesota to go on an educational sight-seeing trip to Washington D.C. from July 3 to July 12, 2010.

Among the sites of interest was JFK's grave. All the graves were an awesome scene to the students. Lincoln Memorial, U.S. Constitution, the White House, World War Memorials, and the Minnesota State Representative Office were observed. Congress was not in session at the time of their visit.

Business meetings were then held.

Included in the business meetings of the Auxiliary and Post were plans for the Annual Turkey Dinner to be held Sunday, Oct. 17, at the Kingston Legion Hall-Community Center, sponsored by the Johnson Kelly American Legion Post and Kingston Lions.

Also the Legion Auxiliary welcomed new members. President Chris Jeppesen presided over the meeting.
