Camp Ripley will honor soldiers and their families with special activities as part of Soldiers and Families Appreciation Day, Saturday, June 21, at 4 p.m. This event is free, in appreciation for Soldiers and their families' service to our country. Soldiers and Families Appreciation Day is a way for military families to enjoy a day full of fun and relaxation. It is also a way for Camp Ripley and the Minnesota National Guard to thank Soldiers for their hard work and sacrifice. Guests should enter Camp Ripley through the east gate. Those that are camping are welcome to come early to set up their campsite. The Soldiers and Families Appreciation Day will begin with a performance from country music singer Katie Rae Davis. There will be a performance by The 2008 Soldier Show, a high-energy, 90-minute, live musical review show-  casing the talents of active duty soldiers who are selected by audition from throughout the Army. In addition, other special events will include a barbeque dinner, beer garden, camping, climbing wall, caricature artist, balloon send off, treasure hunt, inflatable's and a potential flyover.
