Cubs end season on high note

The Kimball JV Baseball Team finished their season last Monday hosting St. John's Prep. The Cubs jumped out to an early lead scoring two runs in the first inning. They added single runs in the second, third, fifth and sixth innings and scored two runs in the fourth. St. John's Prep was held to a single run as the Cubs won 8-1. Ryan Young turned in a great pitching performance. Young threw six innings, allowing one run on two hits and four walks. He totaled eight strikeouts and picked up the pitching win. Danny Jenson pitched the seventh giving up one hit and striking out one. At the plate, the Cubs banged out 12 hits and scored eight runs. Tyler Loch and Ty Filzen had two hits each. Danny Jenson scored two of the eight runs. Danny Jenson and Pete Frank each collected two RBI in the game. The win gives the Cubs a final record of three wins and 10 losses. Jay Klein, coach
