Beginning Monday, March 24, St. Cloud Hospital began providing free valet parking for patients from 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, with the exception of major holidays. The service will continue for at least six-eight weeks while the hospital's south ramp is closed to the public because of construction. People wishing to use the valet service should drive to the A entrance, where they will be greeted by a parking attendant who will assist them. The hospital is contracting with Prestige Parking & Valet of St. Cloud to provide the service. A crew will be adding 153 parking spaces to the ramp. Later this year, an additional ramp will be constructed on the north end of the hospital campus. When work is complete, the campus will have more than 500 additional parking spaces. The parking upgrades are part of a $200-million construction project designed to ensure that the hospital can continue to provide quality care in a quality facility by: adding more private patient rooms; adding more state-of-the-art operating rooms; updating intensive-care units; and replacing an outdated and inadequate loading dock, warehouse and distribution center.
