The 2008 World Day of Prayer celebration, with the theme "God's Wisdom Provides New Understanding," will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 7, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. Celebrate together as one ecumencial community, along with the women of Guyana. A time of fellowship, and lunch will be served following the service. "God's Wisdom Provides New Understanding" has been writeen by the women of Guyana, on the South American continent, though culturally and historically a part of the English-speaking Caribbean region. The theme challenges persons to explore the mystery of God's wisdom as they are called for new understandings of wisdom in their daily life with its many struggles. The World Day of Prayer is an international movement that unites Protestant, Roman Catholic, Orthodox and other Christian men and women in more than 170 countries and regions whose prayers follow the sun across the globe on the day of the celebration.
