Girls' basketball wrapup

Feb. 14, 2008 Kimball girls' basketball visited BBE for Valentine's day this year and were unable to come away with the victory. Kimball, who went into overtime with BBE earlier in the year, was unable to get anything going offensively. The Cubs started slow and were unable to get shots to fall in the first half, BBE would take advantage and go on a 15-0 run to pull away in the middle of the first half. The Cubs were never able to catch back up. BBE dominated the boards giving themselves second and third opportunities, while the Cubs were held to one shot and done for their offensive possesions. The second half the Cubs would look to the bench for a offensive spark and found one in Katie Mackereth who went on to score 9pts in the game. BBE had just to big of a lead for the Cubs to cut into and the Jaguars would go on to win the CMC conference game. Kimball leaders: Brittnay Simmons 13 points; Katie Mackereth nine points; Emily Straley four points and 13 rebounds; Mindy Hurrle, Paige Peglow, Brianna Rosenow and Amanda Kuseske each added a basket of their own. Kimball 34 - BBE 67 Kimball record: 4-18 Up next: At Pierz, Tuesday, Feb. 19; at Holdingford, Friday, Feb. 22; first round Section 5AA playoff game at highest seed Tuesday, Feb. 26 The Kimball girls' basketball players would like to thank all of our Junior Cubs players for this past year. We enjoyed working and playing basketball with you and look forward to seeing all of you this summer at our Basketball Camps (see Comm. Ed for details) and next year at Junior Cubs.
