The Minnesota Orienteering Club, which cancelled a special orienteering meet at Lake Maria State Park Sunday, Feb. 10, due to extremely cold weather, has re-scheduled the event for Sunday, Feb. 24. Registration for the 90-minute meet, which includes cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking, begins at 11:45 a.m. at the park's nature center with a mass-start for all three sports beginning at 12:45 p.m. There is an $8 entry fee. Snowshoes may be rented at the park on a first-come, first-serve basis for a $6 daily fee. Skiers age 16 and older also will be required to purchase a daily ski pass for $5. In addition, for those who do not have an annual vehicle permit, there will be a $5 charge for a daily permit.
