Rose Ann Holthaus of Watkins died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at the Paynesville Area Hospital. She was 65.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with Fr. John Brunner officiating. Interment was in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Rose Ann Holthaus was born April 25, 1942, in St. Cloud to John and Marie (Mick) Kerst. She married Sylvester Holthaus Nov. 25, 1960, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. They resided at Watkins, and Rose Ann was employed at Fingerhut in St. Cloud for 16 years. Rose Ann was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins where she was active with the Council of Catholic Women, and she also volunteered many hours at their thrift store. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing Bingo.
Rose Ann was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Rose Ann is survived by her husband Sylvester Holthaus of Watkins; children Sylvester (and Anna Weis) Holthaus Jr. of Watkins, Darlene (and Jim) Thomalla of Royalton, Cindy (and Bryan) Wigen of Litchfield, Jeff Holthaus of Watkins, Mike (and Tina) Holthaus of Watkins, Leroy (and Molly Schlan-gen) Holthaus of Watkins, and Ben (and Kim) Holthaus of Chokio; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 14 brothers and sisters. Music was by Mary Streit and the church choir. Urn bearers were Bethany Holthaus, Joshua Thomalla and Ryan Holthaus. Arrangements were by Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins.
