Mrs. Niemi's and Mrs. Herrington's fifth-grade classes enjoyed going to the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. We went every Wednesday for five weeks. Both classes participated from January to March.

On our first visit, we were just a little bit nervous, but as the day went on, we realized that there was nothing to worry about. We did interviews and enjoyed cookies and juice.

On the second visit, we all loved playing many fun games.

On the third visit we went on a tour of the Care Center. We got to see the tub room, and residents' rooms.

On our fourth visit the students created kites with our residents. We also enjoyed very yummy cookies and juice.

When our last visit came, we had to say our good-byes. We had a cracker-eating contest. Also, we played many other games like cone pass, marshmallow pass, and our residents fed us Cheerios. Everyone received many prizes and candy (even the residents). We had so much fun, and we wish we could continue our weekly visits.

We want to thank Susie Schneider and the entire staff at Hilltop for allowing us into their caring "home."
