Thursday, May 27, at 9:58 p.m., Meeker County Sheriff's Office responded to a train/car accident near the Canadian Pacific Railroad crossing and Central Avenue within the city of Watkins. The Canadian Pacific eastbound train struck a 2001 Mitsubishi Gallant driven by Louise Mary Loch, age 53, of Sartell. Loch was taken to the St. Cloud Emergenvcy Room where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The 2001 Mitsubishi Gallant was o the tracks and also traveling eastbound at the time of the accident. The train applied the brakes and struck the vehicle at a slow rate of speed. The Sheriff's Office is investigating this accident. Other agencies that helped at the scene were the Watkins Fire and Rescue, The Watkins Ambulance, and the Kimball Police Department.
