Sheriff's Posse attends Wadena clinic

The Meeker County Sheriff's Posse recently attended the Wadena County Patrol Clinic. The Wadena Clinic is one of two clinics held in Minnesota that assist mounted officers with training and exercises that are used to enhance horse and rider skills needed for mounted officers. The Meeker County Sheriff's Posse hosts the other Minnesota clinic in late September each year.

Out of the 14 counties and 86 riders that attended the Wadena Clinic, the Meeker County Sheriff's Posse brought back to Meeker County a number of awards, including first place in the parade competition, first place in equitation, and fourth place in the basic obstacle category. The first-place parade competition traveling flag has been in Meeker County two years out of the four years that it has been in existence.

"The Meeker County Sheriff's Posse is a valuable asset to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office," says Sheriff Jeff Norlin. "We call on our posse for a variety of assistance throughout the year." The Sheriff's Posse is made up of hard-working, dedicated volunteers from around Meeker County.
