Thursday morning, March 15, during rush hour, Kimberly Fleming of South Haven was eastbound on I-94 in Brooklyn Park when she changed lanes, according to witnesses. She went from left lane, to center lane, and then back into the left lane where she hit a car and lost control.
State Trooper Jason Bartell, age 38, was sitting in his squad car in a grassy area off the interstate when Fleming's car came across all lanes of traffic and struck his car.
The trooper had minor injuries, as did Fleming. The man who was driving the car that Fleming stuck first was not injured.
The right two lanes of I-94 were closed to tow vehicles and clean-up following the crash.
