Cubs Club Before and After School-Age Program

By Megan Kuechle

Cubs Club has been staying busy during this mild winter that it almost seems like Spring some days! The children have been enjoying playing outside with the warm temperatures although the children have said that they really do miss the snow!

Besides spending time outside we have been learning with our weekly themes. In the past month, we have learned about dinosaurs, Valentine's Day, and fairytales.

During the Dinosaurs week, the children got to learn what two types of dinosaurs there are. There are the meat-eaters and the plant-eaters. They also got to learn about fossils and see pictures of different plant and dinosaur fossils. During Valentine's Day Week the children were all excited about the joys of handing out their valentines. The children also got to learn more about Valentine's Day by playing Jeopardy. Another activity the children loved was "Hide the Heart". Hide the Heart is where two or three children are chosen to have a big red heart. Their job is to hide the heart where they don't think anyone will find it. Once the hearts are hidden, the other children get to try and find them before someone else does! Fairytales week was all about using your imagination. The children got to take part in games such as Fairytale Jeopardy, answering questions such as: Name a tiny fairy from the movie Peter Pan. Answer: Tinkerbell. The children also got to pick out and decorate their very own fairy. They used paint and glitter to make them extra special.

Cubs Club upcoming themes for March are: Food, St. Patrick's Day, Dr. Seuss, and Rain. If you would like your child(ren) to come join the fun or have any questions feel free to contact us.

Summer is right around the corner and KidZone Summer Camp is ready for registration. If you would like to sign your child up for some summer fun, watch for an upcoming flyer or contact us.
