Scholarships Emily Hoff of St. Cloud and daughter of Jaime Hoff of Kimball and the late Amy Hoff, was honored recently by St. Cloud State University College of Education at Dessert Fest, a ceremony dedicated to recognizing students' hard work with awards and scholarships. Hoff, a senior health education major, won the Odette Hedlund Scholarship. Kimberly Simmonds of Richfield, daughter of Rick Saukkola and Teresa Prouty and a student at Normandale Community College, has been awarded a $1,000
Kopp Investment Advisors Presidential Scholarship for the 2008-2009 academic year. This award recognizes students outstanding achievements in academics and is applied directly to educational costs. A scholarship recognition event will be held in spring 2009 to recognize Kimberly and other scholarship recipients. The Central Minnesota Arts Board (CMAB), at their May meeting, awarded five students with scholarships totaling $8,000. They are: Sophia Heymans, St. Joseph, $1,750; Alyson Brandell, Elk River, $1,750; Melanie Holthaus, Monticello, $1,000; Dana Schroeder-
Davis, Elk River, $2,500; and Sienna Dubbeldee Kuhn, St. Joseph, $1,000. The CMAB High School Arts Scholarship program is open to graduating seniors living in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns and Wright counties that are planning to further their education in the arts.
