Lillie Blumke of Fairhaven died Friday, May 16, 2008, as a result of a brain aneurism. She was 78. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fairhaven, with the Rev. Timothy Nerud officating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the church. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Lillie E. Blumke was born Oct. 24, 1929, in South Haven to Herman and Athina "Tina" (Albers) Lueders. She married Harold H. Blumke May 8 1949, at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven, and he preceded her in death Oct. 15, 1999. Lillie worked for more than 20 years as a bridal consultant at JC Penney in St. Cloud. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where she was involved in LWML, choir, Bible study, care group, cradle role, craft group, sympathy letters and planning of funeral luncheons. She also volunteered at the food shelf. Lillie enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grand-children. She also enjoyed quilting, fishing, spearing, playing cards, baking, bird watching and gardening. Lilie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; baby granddaughter; twin sister; and brothers, Ervin, Walter and Heine Lueders. Lillie is survived by children Susan (and Mike) Michalski and Kris (and Dan) Moeller of Clearwater, Dennis of Spicer, David (and Mary) and Robert (and Paula) of St. Cloud; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
