On Monday, May 5, an adept construction crew laid down 1,000 yards of concrete for the third floor of the new hospital building at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. (That's about 100 truckloads, and about 1,400 tons of concrete.) The concrete was pumped up to the third floor through a crane, the end of which is seen in the center of this photo. The man furthest right is controlling the flow of concrete with a set of joystick controls. Local press was invited to the rooftop of the existing MCMH building to view the work, visit with the hospital board and executives, and take photos. Staff photo by Jean Doran Matua.
