During the holiday season, many of us will gather with family and friends to celebrate long-kept traditions and reminisce of days gone by. Sometimes, these otherwise joyful gatherings are tinged with sadness as families struggle to deal with the loss of a loved one. To help people cope with grief, CentraCare Health System has launched the "Grief & Bereavement Services" on its Web site.
The Grief & Bereavement Services Web section offers support to those who are grieving, and it also provides information about how to help someone who has experienced a loss. Topics include:
* What is grief;
* Myths & facts about grief;
* Life after a loss;
* When to seek help;
* A guide for survivors; and
* Additional grief resources are listed.
"Grief is individual and intimate; everyone experiences grief differently. CentraCare wants to offer a grief and bereavement resource which anyone could access at anytime to help them through a difficult time," said Mary Eisenschenk, Community Outreach Nurse, St. Cloud Hospital Home Care and Hospice Services.
